What we do
When banks lend against commodities, someone has to make sure the stock is real, accounted for, and stays where it should until the loan is repaid. That someone is the collateral manager.
AFIKY plays that role for banks financing agricultural and industrial trade in Tanzania. We control the warehouse, verify the stock, issue the records the bank relies on, and release the goods only on the bank’s instruction. The borrower gets access to credit they otherwise couldn’t unlock. The bank gets a deal it can defend in front of its credit committee.
It’s a quiet job. When it’s done well, nobody notices. When it’s done badly, everyone does.
Our solutions
Agricultural finance breaks down when nobody controls what’s in the warehouse. AFIKY exists to close that gap for the banks that lend, and the businesses that store.
Collateral Management
We manage commodities pledged as security for bank loans, from receipt at the warehouse to release after repayment.
Every bag is counted, weighed, recorded, and tied to a specific loan file. The bank holds the lien. We hold the stock.
Warehouse Management
We operate storage facilities on behalf of clients who need professional inventory control without running it themselves.
Receiving, stacking, fumigation oversight, stock reporting, and dispatch. All managed to standards that hold up to bank and buyer audit.
How we work
Tripartite by design
Every engagement is structured between three parties: the bank, the borrower, and AFIKY. Roles are written down. Release happens on documented instruction.
Records that hold up
Every receipt, every count, every release is documented and reconciled. Banks audit us. We expect it. The systems are built so the answer to any question is in the file.
Present where the stock is
Our team works at the warehouses, not from a desk in Dar. . Disputes get resolved on site. Decisions get made by people who have seen the goods.

Banks, Cooperatives, and Traders Who Trust Us
AFIKY works with the institutions that finance and move commodities through Tanzania’s agricultural economy. These relationships are built one transaction at a time, structured around the bank’s risk requirements, the borrower’s commercial reality, and the operational specifics of the commodity in question.
Built in Tanzania, for Tanzania
AFIKY is owned and operated by Tanzanians, registered under the Companies Act, and headquartered in Mbeya with a branch office in Shinyanga. The team has worked across the country’s main agricultural corridors — from the southern highlands to the cotton belt and the cashew zones in the south-east.
We operate under collateral management agreements customised to each transaction, with professional indemnity cover arranged at the deal level.
