About AFIKY General Company Ltd
AFIKY General Company Limited is a Tanzanian-owned collateral management and warehouse management company, headquartered in Mbeya with a branch office in Shinyanga. We operate across the country’s main agricultural corridors, working under formal agreements with banks, cooperative unions, and commodity traders.
The job is simple to describe and demanding to do well: control the commodity, protect the bank’s security interest, keep records that hold up to audit, and make sure goods only move when the right party authorises the move.
How we work with Banks
Every collateral management engagement begins with a tripartite agreement between the bank, the borrower, and AFIKY. The agreement sets out who controls what, who can authorise what, and what happens if anything goes wrong.
From there, the operational work begins. Stock is received, weighed, graded, and recorded. Receipts are issued. The bank takes its security position. Throughout the life of the loan, we report on the stock — what’s there, what condition it’s in, what’s moved, what hasn’t. When the borrower repays or sells, we release the goods on the bank’s instruction.
What we don't do
We don’t lend money. We don’t broker the sale of commodities we manage. We don’t take ownership positions in client stock. We don’t act as a buyer’s agent in transactions where we manage the seller’s collateral.
These boundaries exist because collateral management depends on the manager being neutral, accountable, and visibly disinterested in the commercial outcome.
The moment a CMA has a stake in the deal, the integrity of its records becomes contestable. We keep our role clean.

AFIKY General Company Limited is incorporated in Tanzania under the Companies Act, 2002, and operates under the regulatory frameworks governing collateral management and warehouse operations in the country.

Licensed: Holds the relevant business and operational licences for collateral and warehouse management activities.
